Nature Walks
Our Walk Leaders will help you discover another side of the Palos Verdes Peninsula. They'll tell you about the history of this once-channel island, about the birds, wildlife, and plants that live in the canyons and undeveloped areas, and about the unique geology of this special Peninsula.
Walks are organized and sponsored by the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, a nonprofit, nonpolitical, public-benefit corporation dedicated to the preservation of natural open space on the Palos Verdes Peninsula.
All walks are free. No reservations are required. Walks are cancelled by significant rain. Call (310) 541-7613 for more information.

George F Canyon Center
The Nature Center and the Stein/Hale Nature Trail comprise the George F Canyon Nature Park and Preserve. This refuge of wilderness is one of the most pristine and beautiful of the many canyons on the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Visitors can walk or ride horseback along the nature trail through Willow-Riparian and Coastal Sage Scrub habitats.
The George F Canyon Nature Center provides educational and recreational programs which invite the community to enjoy and learn more about the natural beauty and wildlife of George F Canyon. The Nature Center provides a variety of changing exhibits and programs so that our community is offered a fresh look at the canyon with every visit. Exhibits focus on themes such as butterflies, birds of the canyon, insects, plant habitats, animals and wildflowers.
See more information on the George F Canyon Center.

Youth Education Program
A very important part of the Land Conservancy's efforts is our youth education program. Our goal is to share an understanding of the beauty and significance of the Peninsula's natural areas, and to involve students in our activities. Our Education program includes our third-grade nature walk program and partnerships with local schools and groups.
