The Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy and the Portuguese Bend Artist Colony open the 2009 Fine Art Exhibition and Sale, Reflections of the Peninsula with an Exclusive Preview Reception, Dinner and Sale Friday, September 18th at the luxury Terranea Resort in Palos Verdes, California. The show is generously sponsored by Terranea Resort, Luxury Life & Style SouthBay Magazine, ONEHOPE Wines, Rolling Hills Flower Mart Design Studio, Bennett Landscape, SA Recycling, and Off the Vine.

The 12th Fine Art Exhibition & Sale features original artwork by the Portuguese Bend Artist Colony (PBAC), a nationally recognized group of plein air artists composed of Richard Humphrey, Stephen Mirich, Vicki Pinkham, Kevin Prince, Thomas Redfield, Amy Sidrane and Daniel Pinkham. Daniel Pinkham was the 2009 recipient of the prestigious Gold Medal for Painting from the California Art Club. The evening is the first opportunity to purchase all-new pieces by the artists, many inspired by the stunning beauty of the Palos Verdes Peninsula.

A Public Opening takes place the next day, Saturday, September 19th from 1-4:00 pm. It will feature a lecture by Jean Stern, the Executive Director of the Irvine Museum, entitled: “Looking at Paintings: Developing a Critical Eye for Collecting the Best” at 2:00 p.m. in the White Point Room at the Terranea Resort.

The Exhibition is Saturday, September 19th through Friday, October 2nd daily in the Lunada Bay Room at the Terranea Resort with various members of the Portuguese Bend Artist Colony available throughout the week to discuss their work. A portion of event ticket costs and art sales goes to support the PV Peninsula Land Conservancy, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and restoring land for the enjoyment and education of all.
