Planned Giving

Leave a legacy of open space protection

Future generations will benefit from our work today. We realize many of you want to ensure this work continues well into the future. Planned Giving is an option which benefits the donor, by fulfilling charitable and financial objectives, and supports the future efforts of the Land Conservancy. The Land Conservancy accepts the following gifts and would be pleased to work with you or your estate planner.

Bequests - You may name the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy as a beneficiary in your will, by donating cash, stocks, bonds, specific assets, or a share of your remaining estate. If you select this option, you should use the following language to describe the beneficiary:

The Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, under the laws of the State of California, with principal business address of 916 Silver Spur Road, Suite 207, Rolling Hills Estates, CA 90274. The federal tax identification number is 33-0309722.

Life Insurance - You can donate a paid-up life insurance policy. Many people have policies that were purchased years ago to provide for children or family needs that are no longer required. Donating the policy to the Land Conservancy may provide you with a tax deduction. Alternatively, you may name the Land Conservancy as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy.

Retirement Plans - You can name the Land Conservancy as a beneficiary of your IRA or other qualified plan.

Charitable Remainder Trust - Through a Charitable Remainder Trust (CRT), you can contribute appreciated assets to charity while you (or another non-charitable beneficiary) have the right to an income stream from those assets. This option provides an income stream and possible income tax charitable deductions. It also may reduce or eliminate federal estate taxes. When the income obligation is completed, the remainder of the trust assets pass to the Land Conservancy.

Charitable Gift Annuity - A charitable gift annuity can be established with a gift of assets, typically cash or stock. The donor receives a guaranteed life income at a fixed payment rate, while also benefitting the Land Conservancy.

If you plan to include the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy in your will or estate plan, we should be named as: The Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, under the laws of the State of California, with principal business address of 916 Silver Spur Road, Suite 108, Rolling Hills Estates, CA 90274. Our tax identification number is 33-0309722.
