Forrestal Nature Preserve
The Forrestal Nature Preserve is located on the south side of the
Palos Verdes Peninsula in the City of Rancho Palos Verdes |
With some of the best remaining native wildlife habitat and hiking trails, this 163-acre preserve is a key component of the Peninsula's natural environment and a significant part of the proposed Palos Verdes Nature Preserve. The Land Conservancy currently has an agreement with the City of Rancho Palos Verdes to manage the recreational and wildlife values on this outstanding property.
Advisory Board
In order to oversee the implementation of the Forrestal Management Plan, in May 2005, an Advisory Board was formed, comprised of representatives from the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, the City of Rancho Palos Verdes, and community members. Community members include individuals from the local homeowner's association, the equestrian community, a natural resources and habitat representative, and a trail expert.
