Entries accepted by mail at our PVPLC address or e-mail (photo@pvplc.org) from September 15 through November 5, 2003. Payment must accompany mailed entries or must be mailed separately to PVPLC address if photos submitted electronically.

Entry Fee: $15 for one photo; $20 for two; $25 for three. Students: $10 for maximum of three entries.

Awards Ceremony and Reception at 2:00 pm on Sunday afternoon, November 9, 2003 at Ladera Linda Community Center, located ate the end of Forrestal Drive in Rancho Palos Verdes.

Judges: Bill Ailor, President, PVPLC; Frank Brown, Society Editor, Palos Verdes Peninsula News; Tom Underhill, Staff Photographer, Palos Verdes Peninsula News; Ted Vegvari, President, PV on the Net (Corel International Art Contest Judge); Joey Zanotti, International Travel Photographer, Member, Exhibitions Committee, Palos Verdes Art Center; Betty Riedman, Photographer, Los Serenos de Point Vicente.

Rules:

  1. Photos must be taken on the Palos Verdes Peninsula and be consistent with the contest theme: "The Natural Beauty of the Palos Verdes Peninsula."
  2. Entries may be in color or black and white.
  3. Photographs may not contain recognizable people.
  4. Photographs may be submitted as color slides, 4x6 prints, or electronic images. Color slides and prints must be mailed to PVPLC at the address below. Electronic images in GIF or JPG format may be submitted on a 3.5-inch floppy disk or may be e-mailed to photo@pvplc.org (payment for e-mailed entries should be mailed to PVPLC). Electronic images may not exceed 1 MEG in size.
  5. Entries will be processed and displayed on the PVPLC web site.
  6. Entrants may submit a maximum of three photos. A check for the appropriate entry fee, payable to PVPLC, must be received by the Conservancy prior to judging. Photographs will not be judged unless entry fees have been received.
  7. Mailed or e-mailed submissions must include category and title for each photo, location where photo was taken, and the name, address, and phone number of photographer.
  8. The Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy reserves the right to reproduce photographs in publications and electronic media. Proper attribution will be given to the photographer in any such uses.
  9. The competition is open to everyone. Winners will be announced on November 9, 2003 at the Awards Ceremony.
