2010 Spring for White Point Home Tour and Celebration Event
Enjoy a self-guided tour of seven distinctive, historic and eclectic homes that reflect the rich diversity of architecture and landscaping in the San Pedro community. Following the tour, ticket holders are invited to a wine/hors d'oeuvres reception with musical entertainment and silent auction at the new White Point Nature Education Center. Featuring multi-media exhibits of White Point's cultural and natural history and a native plant demonstration garden, this facility will serve as a community resource for students, families and community groups.

Highlights of this year's tour include: the home and working studio of a nationally recognized public art sculptor, Eugene Daub who specializes in full-figure bronze and bas-relief sculpture and his wife, a professional abstract painter and assemblage artist.
the water lily gardens, an atrium and footbridge over a 15,000 gallon Koi pond leading to the front door of a contemporary home that offers an unobstructed view of Catalina Island from its three viewing decks and backyard pool; and
a charming wooden cottage built in the 1920's that captured the essence of San Pedro for its New Zealand owners, an established contemporary painter and a recognized architect, who designed and added a modern painting studio to the backyard
a mid-century California ranch nestled in a landscape with mature native plants and magnificent Pacific Ocean and Catalina views, this house is perfect for modern family indoor/outdoor living with a lovely designer kitchen and an outdoor kitchen and living room complete with fireplace;
a colonial style home completely remodeled over 15 years by its current owners to create spacious rooms for entertaining with raised ceilings, marble floors, fabulous custom woodwork and wall coverings and to display their many 18th and 19th century American and European antiques, china and glassware collections;
the working studio of a native San Pedro artist who specializes in printmaking, photography and abstract art that also houses his extensive collection of African and Mexican folk art including masks, religious figures and antique dolls;
and the historic Muller House, a colonial revival style home built in 1899 by Edward Muller, a founding citizen of San Pedro, that is now owned and has been restored by the San Pedro Bay Historical Society.
