2010 Volunteer Days

Looking for opportunities to get out doors? Like to grow native plants? Would you like to become a leader of our popular monthly Nature Walks? Want to help with special events? Have other skills or interests you'd like to share?

We Are Currently Seeking Volunteers For Restoration and For Help At Our Office!

All volunteer work days are on Saturdays from 9am-noon unless otherwise specified. Please contact Jill Wittman to sign up or if you need more information at (310) 541-7613 ext. 201. NOTE: Outdoor workdays will be cancelled in the event of rain. Closed toed shoes required at all volunteer events. Long pants also required for trail work events.




January
January 9th: Restore PV Blue Butterfly habitat at the Chandler Preserve
January 18th (Monday): Celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service with us at White Point!
January 23rd: Transplant native seedlings at our Nursery
January 30th: Help with habitat restoration and weeding at the Alta Vicente Reserve

February
February 6th: Transplant native seedlings at our Nursery
February 20th: Help with weeding the George F Canyon demonstration garden
February 27th: Team Leader Training Workshop (9am-3pm)

March
March 6th: Help with habitat restoration by weeding and planting at the Three Sisters Reserve
March 13th: Team Leader Training Workshop (9am-3pm)
March 20th: Transplant native seedlings at our Nursery
March 27th: Help with weeding and planting the White Point demonstration garden

April
April 3rd: Help with weeding in the George F Canyon demonstration garden
April 10th: Transplant native seedlings at our Nursery
April 17th: Help restore native habitat at the Three Sisters Reserve
April 24th: Celebrate Earth Day with weeding and habitat restoration (Location TBA)

May
May 1st: Celebrate Big Sunday (on a Saturday) by being a weed warrior at White Point
May 8th: Help with weeding and trail maintenance at the Three Sisters Reserve
May 15th: Restore native habitat and maintain trails at the White Point Nature Preserve
May 22nd: Transplant native seedlings and help with restoration at our Nursery




Office Help
Help us in the office at 916 Silver Spur, #207 (across from CVS) preparing mailings, doing computer work, research, etc. Call Mary Lopes, 541-7613, ext. 206, for more information.

Volunteer Opportunity for Birders- A research project on the bird community at the Three Sisters Reserve in the Palos Verdes Nature Preserve.
